At Rivers Health Cardio-Respiratory Services, we offer state-of-the-art diagnostic testing for a wide range of heart and lung problems.
Cardiac stress testing is used to diagnose and evaluate coronary heart disease, heart failure and other conditions. Using both exercise and resting stress tests, we are able to assess cardiac symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest pain and detect abnormal changes in heart rate, blood pressure and heart rhythms. For both inpatients and outpatients, we offer electrocardiogram (EKG) tests to study the heart’s electrical activity in depth.
When a more complete picture of a patient’s heart activity is needed, we offer continuous Holter monitoring, which records the patient’s heart rate and rhythm for 24 to 48 hours as he or she goes about normal daily activities. For patients whose cardiac symptoms come and go, PVH Cardio-Respiratory Services provides cardiac event monitoring, allowing individuals to take home a portable recording device and record their heart activity whenever symptoms occur. If a lung problem is suspected, our highly trained respiratory therapists perform pulmonary function testing to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases and disorders.
