Marshall Health Network announced today that Justin Turner, Chief Operating Officer, has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer at Logan Regional Medical Center, a member of Scion Health. Turner will return to his hometown in late August.

In a message to the Rivers Health team, Turner shared, “It has been an honor and a privilege to work with Rivers Health over the past couple of years. Many great things have been accomplished, and many more are on the horizon for Rivers Health, Mason County, and the broader communities we serve. Thank you for giving me this tremendous opportunity to serve you and be a small part of your journey.”

Since joining Rivers Health, Turner has played a key role in advancing the hospital’s strategic goals and enhancing services for patients and families across the region. Among his contributions, he led the launch of the new emergency department construction project, helped strengthen financial performance, championed quality improvement efforts, and introduced initiatives to support employee engagement and development.

“On behalf of Marshall Health Network and the Rivers Health Board of Directors, we extend our sincere appreciation to Justin for his dedicated leadership and contributions to Rivers Health,” said Scott Raynes, President and CEO of Marshall Health Network. “Justin guided Rivers Health through important milestones and improvements, and his commitment to serving the community has been evident in all he does. While we will miss his leadership here, we are thrilled for him to have this opportunity to serve his hometown and continue making a positive impact in rural healthcare.”

Raynes emphasized that Marshall Health Network remains committed to supporting Rivers Health through this leadership transition. Members of the Marshall Health Network executive team will provide interim leadership and operational support to ensure continuity of care and services while the search for a permanent Chief Operating Officer is underway.

“Rivers Health is well-positioned for continued success,” Raynes added. “With its strong leadership team, dedicated staff, and ongoing investments in facilities and services, we are confident in the future ahead for Rivers Health and the patients it serves.”
