Marshall Health Network (MHN) was recognized as the Clinically Integrated Network Partner of the Year at the 10th Annual Accountable Care Symposium, presented by Wellvana. Each year, health care organizations and provider partners are honored for their exemplary work and innovative approaches in value-based care to improve the quality of care for their patients and community.
Dr. Jodi Biller, director of clinical improvement for MHN, and Dr. Chad Smith, chief of population health for MHN, were also featured speakers on panel sessions on Peer Success and Care Management.
“Marshall Health Network has continued to enhance high-quality care and improve patient outcomes through increasing our Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and providing care management to our high-risk patients,” Biller said. “We are proud to have our efforts recognized among other leaders dedicated to improving quality of care for patients.”
A Medicare Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) is a yearly appointment with a health care provider focused on preventive care. Unlike a routine physical, the AWV is designed to create or update a personalized prevention plan to help prevent disease and disability based on the patient’s current health and risk factors. These visits are covered once every 12 months at no cost to patients with Medicare Part B coverage.
The award was presented at the conference on April 17 in Orlando, Florida.
