Joining Together in the Fight Against Cancer

To provide the communities we serve with truly comprehensive cancer care, Rivers Health has partnered with the state-of-the-art Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Mina Shenouda, MD, fellowship-trained medical oncologist, provides hematologic oncology and general hematology care, and treats patients with all types of cancers at Rivers Health.

Through the partnership between Rivers Health and the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients in Point Pleasant and the surrounding areas have access to the full range of resources, specialists and clinical trials at the ECCC – without ever having to leave their community. When highly specialized services such as surgical oncology, radiation oncology or orthopedic oncology are needed, the partnership ensures a seamless transition for patients and their families. Patients may stay in Huntington for advanced treatments, with lodging assistance provided by the ECCC, and then return to Point Pleasant as soon as possible for the remainder of their treatment and care.

Combining the comfort and familiarity of a neighborhood hospital with the expertise and resources of an academic cancer center means truly comprehensive cancer care for the communities we serve.
