Otolaryngologist joins PVH medical staff

Emad Al Haj Ali, MD, otolaryngologist, has joined the medical staff at Pleasant Valley Hospital (PVH), a member of Mountain Health Network (MHN).

Dr. Ali received his medical degree from Damascus University in Damascus, Syria, and completed his residency in otolaryngology at Tishreen Hospital in Damascus. He completed a research fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, a rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery fellowship at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston and an endocrine surgery fellowship and head and neck training at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia.

With 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ali offers treatment for a wide variety of ear, nose and throat (ENT) issues, from pediatric to adult, including:

• Surgical and non-surgical treatment of sinus and nasal problems, including headache
• Office-based procedures for breathing issues
• Treatment of sleep apnea, including use of CPAP machines
• Thyroid and parathyroid surgeries for thyroid nodules, Graves’ disease and high calcium
• Treatment of nasal allergies, including skin allergy testing and allergy injections
• Ear problems, including ear pain, discharge, hearing loss, dizziness problems and tinnitus
• Hoarseness, dysphagia and acid reflux problems, including heartburn and sore throat
• Neck masses, including benign and malignant neoplasm
